Giorgos Hatzigiannakis and his Selene Restaurant are names connected, as nobody else, with the re-discovery and promotion of the culinary treasures of Santorini. Nowadays, they are continually reinventing the gastronomic image of the island and on the 35^th anniversary of Selene, the restaurant is relocated in Fira (capital of Santorini) where all started. From his new home, Giorgos Hatzigiannakis is continuing the work of a lifetime, adding colors on the canvas of fine dining and support the evolution of the modern Greek tastes. Bursting with heritage, this former monastery that houses Selene Restaurant in the heart of Fira town, takes on new life with emerald hues and rose-colored accents, set against an alluring backdrop of black and cream. The landmark restaurant and pioneer of Santorini’s cuisine plays off this history-filled space to offer guests a revelatory dining experience, where past and future become one. 

Created with passion, the menu is a novel celebration of authenticity, inspired by the local culinary heritage of Santorini. Its refined, contemporary spin on traditional recipes excites the senses with flavors and aromas that masterfully draw from the past in intriguing new ways.

Selene Antique Wine Caves

A different wine tasting experience in Santorini. The antique caves of Selene, is a special establishment, exporting wine even to Vatican for ages. Thematic wine tastings, curated by Yannis Karakasis MW, one of the 395 only Masters of Wine© of the World, set to explore Santorini's wine culture. Experienced sommeliers will unveil the secrets of the volcanic terroir and local vine varieties. You will compare and explore the style of various producers, locally but also internationally.
